GOALS
As a life-long learner, I believe it is important to constantly self-reflect and work toward growth goals which will push me to be better each day as a highly effective teacher. A large part of monitoring growth is through goal setting which I will share through my current growth goals outlined below.

1F: Designing Student Assessment
Growth Goal: Through the design and implementation of my Action Research intervention, I have learned about the diverse learning needs of my students through student assessments that have allowed me to gain a better understanding of my students personally and academically. I am consistently researching best practices that will help me support students in their learning journey.
2D: Managing Student Behaviors
Growth Goal: The goal for my middle school internship placement was to grow in how to manage behaviors with adolescents. While I feel that my ability to manage behaviors with kindergartners was effective, I am aware of the developmental differences that require me to use a different approach that will empathize building responsibility as a life skill.

3A: Communicating with Students
Growth Goal: One thing that I will strive to become more effective is my ability to understand content pedagogy and speak clearly/explicitly and concisely about the expectations for different grade levels and content areas. I will stive to build my own background knowledge in best practices for engaging and building a deeper knowledge of the topics that I teach.
4C: Communicating with Families & Caregivers
Growth Goal: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many restrictions have been set in place that limit caregivers communication and involvement. However, my goal is to seek opportunities that will help me grow in my ability to engage families/caregivers in the academic journey of my students.
