My name is Alyssa Lemon and I am currently a teacher candidate in the Master in Arts in Teaching program at the University of Arkansas. Throughout my five years at the U of A, I swam as a Lady Razorback on the Swimming & Diving team. While studying to become a teacher, I have fallen in love with STEM Education, because I believe it is a way for me to connect the values I have learned in the pool to the classroom.

Through college athletics, we emphasize the power of collaboration, team-work, communication, and leadership. STEM integration embodies these values to allow our students the opportunity to become real-world problem solvers & innovators. I believe STEM education allows our students to make meaningful connections to the world around them and encourages them to become life-long learners.
